Crafted in Collaboration with an Artisan Tea Master
Barista Crafted Hojicha Powder

Optimized for Hojicha Lattes. Made with 100% Organically Grown Tea Leaves

Why Hojicha Is the Next Café Trend

Hojicha is gaining attention— offering a unique flavor, lower caffeine, and strong compatibility with milk-based beverages.

Beyond Matcha Trend

Matcha is now a staple in cafés worldwide. As customers explore Japanese tea beyond matcha, hojicha is emerging as a new and appealing alternative.

Low-Caffeine Option

Hojicha powder is a lighter choice, containing only 1/3 the caffeine of a cup of coffee and about 60% of the caffeine found in Matcha.

Menu diversification increases revenue

Adding a new signature drink increases average order value.

More affordable and stable than matcha

With matcha prices rising and supply becoming unstable, hojicha offers a more affordable and reliable alternative for café menus.

Why Traditional Hojicha Powder Sometimes Doesn’t Work for Lattes

Traditionally in Japan, hojicha powder was developed for a different purpose — to make a quick and convenient hot hojicha drink simply by adding hot water. Because of this, most hojicha powders are not designed to be mixed with milk. When used for lattes, the flavor often becomes thin and loses its aromatic depth. As hojicha lattes began appearing on café menus, many of our customers started asking for a hojicha powder specifically suited for milk beverages — one that would retain its aroma and character without being overpowered by milk.

Barista Crafted Hojicha Powder

We set out to create a hojicha powder designed not for traditional tea — typically made to be dissolved in hot water — but for exceptional lattes. In collaboration with an artisan tea master widely respected in the Japanese tea industry for his deep knowledge of tea and refined tea-making expertise, we developed a hojicha that brings out the full potential of roasted flavor. To achieve both depth and clarity, the roasting process was carefully separated into two approaches — one focused on maximizing aroma, the other on enhancing flavor. These were then expertly blended to create a balanced profile with a rich roasted aroma and a smooth, nutty character.
